Police say they are working to “establish the full circumstances” after a woman accused Manchester United footballer Mason Greenwood of assault.
On Sunday video, photos, and an audio recording were posted on the woman’s Instagram account before being deleted.
Greater Manchester Police said it was “aware of images and videos circulating on social media”.
Manchester United said the player would now not return to training or matches until further notice.
The club earlier said they “do not condone violence of any kind” and had been made aware of the allegations on social media but would make no further comment until the “facts have been established”.
Mason Greenwood has not responded to the allegations.
Girlfriend Side Story:
THE dad of Mason Greenwood’s girlfriend has said her relationship with the Manchester United ace had “not been good” in the months before she accused him of domestic violence.
Harriet Robson today shared a series of graphic images on Instagram showing her bloodied face and bruised body as she made the allegations against the striker.
The model is said to be “devastated” after going public with her claims, and her dad Alan has since said he too is gutted as Greenwood “has been part of our family for two or three years”.
He told The Sun: “As a father you don’t want to know things like that about your daughter.
“She’s devastated, she’s just with the police at the moment. She’s reported it. It’s a very strange time.
“Being such a famous person, we have known him since the under 21s, so he has been part of our family for two or three years.
“The last few months they have not had a very good relationship. She has very mixed emotions but they were very much in love.
“She hasn’t been living with us. She was living with him. I think her phone was hacked.”
Harriet first shared a photo of herself with blood streaming down her chin, neck and chest from what appeared to be a gash on her lip.
She captioned the short video: “To everyone who wants to know what Mason Greenwood actually does to me.”
The 20-year-old footballer, who made his debut for the club in March 2019, signed a four-year deal in February 2021 after rising up through the ranks of the United academy.
