Kanye West — despite his public pleas to the contrary — appears to be moving on from his 2021 split with Kim Kardashian, most recently with actress Julia Fox.
The pair were first spotted together at the top of the year in Miami and soon brought their romance to New York City, where they attended a Broadway show together and were snapped smiling and laughing in each other’s company before heading back to West’s hotel.
Her big break:
The 31-year-old Italian-American star got her big break opposite Adam Sandler in 2019’s “Uncut Gems,” her film debut.
“It was pretty easy, I would say,” Fox told Refinery29 of taking on her first big role. “It’s not rocket science. Just like act and react, and memorize your lines. You really have to be able to let go lose control, and destroy your ego. You’re not you, you have to let go of yourself and be this whole other person, and really feel the scene that you’re in. There is an art to it. You either have it or you don’t, I think.”
The jill of many trades held a plethora of gigs before making her big-screen debut, including stints at a shoe shop, an ice cream parlor — and a short-lived career as a dominatrix.
“This was back when Craigslist still had an ‘adult gigs’ section,” Fox told Rolling Stone in 2020. “I was scrolling, and in between ads for prostitutes, I clicked on one that said ‘no nudity, no sex.’ That appealed to me.”
“You’re given a few words on what the client’s interests are and then you have to build from there and improvise the rest,” added Fox. “So imagine having to do that multiple times a day in different outfits — a nun, teacher, nurse, mom — according to the clients’ desires. I went in an angsty teenager and left a really self-assured woman.”
She later began work as a model, posing for Playboy’s final nude issue in 2015. She’s also self-published two books on photography and hosted an art exhibit titled “R.I.P. Julia Fox,” where she used her own blood to stain silk canvases.
Fox has been open about her past drug addiction since stepping into the limelight, revealing to The New Yorker that she suffered an overdose at the age of 17 after battling heroin and pill abuse.
“It’s kind of a miracle that I’m okay because a lot of the people I grew up with aren’t doing so well. They’re still on drugs or in jail. A lot of them died,” the star told The Hollywood Reporter in 2020.
Fox married pilot Peter Artemiev in 2018 and welcomed their son Valentino on January 17, 2021. She has since called becoming a mom, “the best day of my life.”
“It’s like taking a comb through your whole life and anything extra and unnecessary falls to the wayside. It’s really, really nice. I value my time so much more because I have so little of it,” she told Interview September 2021. “It’s very humbling to know that this little baby is the boss of me. He decides what we do all the time.”
Unfortunately, Fox has accused ex-hubby Artemiev of being an alcoholic and a “deadbeat dad” to their son.
“This man left me with a 5-month-old and a dog and a home and ALL THE BILLS. It’s wrong!!! It’s not fair,” Fox fumed on Instagram in December 2021. “I can’t even do it anymore. I just don’t want my son f–ked up cuz he feels like his dad was absent or loved alcohol and partying more than him,” she added.
Shortly after her Christmas rant against Artemiev, Fox was spotted hanging out in South Florida with “Donda” artist West, who himself recently called it quits with model Vinetria.
“Julia and Ye are dating,” a source close to Fox told Page Six exclusively. “They both just got out of their former relationships, and they’ve helped each other recover immensely.
“They’re kind of kindred spirits, and it’s cool to watch.”
