Tornado watch cancelled in which areas?

The severe weather threat for the Tennessee Valley has ended as the mainline of storms has exited the region. Any lingering showers will continue to taper off from west to east tonight.

What is Tornado watch?

A tornado watch is a severe weather watch product issued by national weather forecasting agencies when meteorological conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes.

Current Update:

A Dense Fog Advisory has been issued through 9 AM Thursday. The advisory may be expanded as conditions warrant. updated at: 10:14 p.m.

Severe storms finally out of the Mid South. Some light showers and humid conditions will linger especially in northeast Mississippi. update at 7:22 p.m.

Cancelled in Areas:

  • Tornado Watch for Monroe is canceled until 7 p.m.
  • Tornado Watch for Itawamba is canceled until 7 p.m.
  • The Tornado Watch has been canceled for Calhoun, Chickasaw, Lee, Pontotoc, Prentiss, and Tishomingo (MS) until 7 p.m.
  • The Tornado Watch has been canceled for McNairy, Lafayette and Yalobusha counties.
  • The Tornado Watch has been canceled for Shelby, Fayette, Crittenden, Lee and St. Francis counties. It continues until 7 for the other counties included in the earlier Watch.
